The Federal Police and the Special Operations Company of the Military Police of Amazonas spent 20 days navigating the Marié River, in the state of Amazonas, for the first time, where they seized about 1.4 ton of drugs (Skank) and some illegal weapons.
According to the PF, the police found that due to the difficult access to the Marié River, that it serves as a corridor for the entry of drugs into Brazil from abroad.
This operation started on August 22 and ended on Thursday (8), when the team made up of 16 people returned to Manaus (AM), where it was possible to put into practice the work of inspection and also to obtain knowledge of that region. .
Rio Marié is located between the municipalities of Santa Isabel do Rio Negro and São Gabriel da Cachoeira.
The policemen covered 3,120 kilometers in 18 days, 10 of which in the river using 5 boats.
