PF arrests 6 Nigerians who had swallowed cocaine capsules at Guarulhos Airport

The Federal Police (PF) arrested six Nigerians trying to board cocaine capsules at São Paulo International Airport, in Guarulhos, in the early hours of this Tuesday (14).

While the PF inspected passengers and luggage, agents noticed that one of the interviewees was uncomfortable. His hand luggage was inspected by x-ray equipment, which detected traces of drugs. When questioned, the man confessed that he had swallowed capsules containing the drug.

According to the PF, five other Nigerian passengers, whose results were similar, and who also had tickets with the same characteristics, were taken to the hospital to expel the capsules.

According to the PF, all suspects have a National Migrant Registry (RNM). One of them had already been arrested at the airport due to serving an arrest warrant in 2017, and three entered Brazil with a request for refuge.

After leaving the hospital, the suspects will be brought before the Federal Court, where they will be charged with the crime of international drug trafficking.
