The Federal Police arrested in Miami, on Sunday, a Brazilian who had been on the run for twenty years.

Under him, weighs the accusation of being responsible for the death of three young people, in a traffic accident that happened in March 2003, in Barra da Tijuca, in Rio de Janeiro. The information was passed on this Monday (04).

The man, who is 39 years old, was identified as Marcelo Henrique Negrão Kijak. He was located and detained by the American authorities, due to the joint action of federal police officers from the PF/Interpol International Capture Center, and support from the NCPI/RJ International Police Cooperation Center.

He was boarding for Israel at the time of the arrest, using an Israeli passport. Shortly after the crime, he acquired nationality from that country to continue fleeing. The report did not find his lawyer.

The crime gained notoriety in Brazil, when the father of one of the victims, dissatisfied with impunity, created a non-governmental organization, which fights for the awareness of drivers and against impunity in traffic crimes, which originated the approval of Law 11.705/ 08, the so-called Prohibition Law.
