PF arrests businessman involved in cryptocurrency fraud

The Federal Police preventively arrested this Thursday (3), Francisley da Silva, called the bitcoin sheik, for fraud in cryptocurrencies and also served two search and seizure warrants for further investigations.

The PF discovered that the investigated failed to comply with precautionary measures and that he was holding meetings at his home with employees of his company. In one of the cases, with an employee who is the financial manager of the company, and with a person responsible for the graphic designer of the virtual platforms created by the accused to carry out the frauds, which continued in activity.

The businessman was free under restrictions, but could not continue to manage his companies or carry out business of interest to his group. In view of this, the Federal Court of Curitiba / PR determined the arrest of the businessman and carried out new searches.

This criminal organization that would be headed by Francisley da Silva, has been committing crimes since 2016, in a financial pyramid scheme, which would be behind the guise of renting cryptocurrencies. In addition to promoting fraud in Brazil and abroad, it also manufactures and sells virtual platforms and systems to others interested in committing similar crimes.

The PF believes that 15,000 people have money invested in the company.

According to the PF, investigations will continue to put an end to the group’s criminal activities, as well as elucidate the participation of all those involved in the crime, and track their assets to repair the damage caused to the victims.
