PF arrests former commander of the Paraguayan Air Force

The Federal Police (PF) arrested the former commander of the Paraguayan Air Force this Tuesday morning (5). Arturo Javier Gonzales was arrested at home in the neighboring country.

The arrest is part of Operation Dakovo, which carries out 25 warrants against a group suspected of negotiating the purchase and sale of 43,000 weapons for the heads of Brazil’s largest criminal factions in three years.

At his house, the PF seized weapons and large amounts of money, which have yet to be accounted for. In Paraguay, 11 arrests were made until 7:30 am this Tuesday (5).

In total, the agents served 25 preventive arrest warrants, six temporary arrest warrants and 52 search and seizure warrants in Brazil, the United States and Paraguay.

The action is carried out by the Bahia Sensitive Investigations Group (GISE/BA), linked to the PF Arms Trafficking Repression Coordination in Brasília (CGPRE).

According to the investigation, the group under investigation moved R$1.2 billion during the period in which the weapons were delivered.
