PF arrests international wanted people in Minas after deportation by the USA

The Federal Police arrested three international suspects at Belo Horizonte International Airport, in Minas Gerais, this Friday (23). The men arrived on a flight of Brazilians deported from the USA.

According to the PF, the prisoners were included in the Interpol Red Diffusion, which is a type of alert issued by the judicial authorities of a member country for the extradition of people wanted by the criminal justice system.

One of the prisoners was on the list at the request of the 1st Criminal Court of Mogi das Cruzes, metropolitan region of São Paulo, for participating in a qualified homicide committed against a minor in the city of Mogi, in November 2020. The other was on the list for a arrest warrant issued by the Court of the 1st Criminal Court of the District of Sertãozinho, in the interior of São Paulo.

The third man was included among those wanted by the court in Caratinga, in the state of Minas Gerais. According to the Court, he had planned and participated in a fake kidnapping, to extort the kidnapped woman's companion, between July and August 2015.

ICE – US (Immigration and Customs Enforcement), the United States immigration authority, detained the fugitives on North American soil because they did not comply with the country's immigration rules.

In Brazil, the men were arrested and, after undergoing a criminal examination, were sent to prison, where they remain in custody.
