The Federal Police (PF) and the Capture Group of the Integrated Force to Combat Organized Crime (Ficco) of Governador Valadares (MG) arrested one of the most wanted criminals in the country in São Paulo.
The target of the operation lived under a false identity in the capital of São Paulo, including with a CPF created to give credibility to the hoax.
The man, whose identity was not disclosed, has a sentence of more than 73 years in prison and is accused of crimes such as qualified homicide, possession of a restricted weapon, robbery using a firearm, restriction of freedom of victims in robberies to banks, armed criminal association and drug trafficking.
According to the PF, he is known for leading several robberies at bank branches across the country, which made him one of the most wanted criminals in Brazil.
Furthermore, the man escaped from prison three times, being rescued from a police escort by an armed group on one of the occasions. His last escape took place in December 2018, at the Nelson Virgínia Penitentiary Complex, in Minas Gerais.
The criminal has at least 31 outstanding preventive arrest warrants.
According to the PF, one of his arrests took place in a luxury condominium, where three M-16 rifles, a shotgun, money and five cell phones were seized.
