The Federal Police (PF) opened an investigation to identify suspects of arms and drug trafficking across the border between Brazil and Paraguay.
The measure took place after agents arrested two men in flagrante delicto, this Monday (16), who tried to enter with weapons, ammunition and anabolic steroids in a car across the Friendship Bridge between the cities of Foz do Iguaçu and Cidade do Leste.
According to the Federal Police, the goods were in boxes inside the vehicle. During the first investigations at the police station, agents seized another vehicle with boxes containing rifles, ammunition and anabolic steroids .
In total, two vehicles were seized, more than 900 rounds of ammunition for rifles and other weapons a pistol, dozens of bottles of anabolic steroids and hundreds of long gun parts, such as barrels, stocks, holographic sights and magazines.
The two men, who are from São Paulo, were arrested and must answer for international arms trafficking.
