The Federal Police (PF) is carrying out, this Monday (24), a new phase of the operation that investigates the violent robbery that took place in the municipality of Araçatuba, in August of last year.
In this action, 40 police officers participate and five people were temporarily arrested. The authorities still fulfill 10 search and seizure warrants and another five for criminal identification, which were issued by the Federal Court of Araçatuba/SP and the State Court of Limeira/SP.
In August of last year, criminals used explosives and took hostages in a robbery at Caixa Econômica Federal (CEF) and Banco do Brasil. One person died during the crime.
The searches this Monday (24) take place in Sorocaba, Osasco and Guarujá, in São Paulo, and Goiânia, in Goiás.
Those involved hold various positions within the criminal organization that terrorized Araçatuba, such as direct executors of the theft, and financiers, as well as a nucleus that only took care of fraud to facilitate the use of vehicles by bandits and accomplices who kept the group’s weapons.
The PF has intensified its efforts to identify and hold accountable all individuals who participated in the crime.
A year after the robbery in Araçatuba, the PF has already carried out 53 arrest warrants and 105 search and seizure warrants, and hundreds of analyzes carried out by the police intelligence unit, forensic examinations, execution of field investigations and confrontation of all elements and evidence collected.
