The Federal Police of Minas Gerais carried out, this Thursday morning (5), eight search and seizure warrants and a preventive arrest warrant in an action to combat crimes of drug trafficking, firearms trafficking and money laundering. in the Minas Gerais cities of Belo Horizonte and Ribeirão das Neves.
According to the PF, investigations began after agents became aware of a couple who were transporting drugs and weapons to different regions of the capital of Minas Gerais.
They would also be collecting money from drug sales in the metropolitan region and depositing the amounts in bank branches with the aim of laundering the money from drug trafficking.
During the investigations, one of the suspects was arrested red-handed after being caught transporting 19 kilos of cocaine and 3 restricted-use pistols, from the city of São Paulo to the city of Belo Horizonte.
The agents also seized more than R$410 thousand reais that would be deposited in a bank by an accomplice of the couple.
Those investigated may face charges of interstate drug trafficking, association with drug trafficking, illegal firearms trade and money laundering. Suffered sentences can reach up to 47 years in prison.
