PF carries out operation against fraud in benefits and forgery of documents

The Federal Police (PF) carried out, this Wednesday (14), an operation against a criminal organization specialized in falsifying documents such as the National Driver’s License (CNH), National Identity Card (CIN), in addition to defrauding Auxílio Brasil, Fundo Service Time Guarantee (FGTS) and Emergency Aid.

About 50 police officers, including the Grupo de Pronta Intervenção (GPI), took to the streets with Operation Simulatum, serving two preventive arrest warrants, five temporary arrest warrants and 10 search and seizure warrants in the states of Bahia and Pernambuco.

According to the PF, the investigations began after several arrests in the act of people who were used to withdraw benefits on behalf of third parties, using false documents, such as the CNH.

The estimated loss from the sale of these portfolios amounts to R$ 5 million, and with benefits fraud, around R$ 2 million.

Those involved will answer for criminal organization, increased fraud, use of false documents, forgery of public documents, which can lead to 24 years in prison.

Simulatum, Latin expression that means “simulated”, refers to the fraudulent and intentional nature of the deviations of values ​​identified during the investigations.
