PF carries out operation against suspects of killing a federal police officer in Bahia

The Federal Police (PF) launched the “Temporal” operation in Bahia this Wednesday morning (29). 12 search and seizure warrants and eight arrest warrants were issued against the criminal organization suspected of killing federal police officer Lucas Caribé, in Salvador, in September.

The PF has the support of the Military and Civil Police of the state of Bahia and, since the early hours of the morning, teams have been on the streets of Salvador and the metropolitan region to comply with the warrants.

Investigations revealed that the order to invade Valéria’s neighborhood, which resulted in the confrontation and death of the agent, came from a leader of the faction who has been imprisoned for more than a year. The investigation shows that more than 50 “heavily armed” criminals participated in the crime.

Those investigated will be responsible for the crimes of qualified homicide and criminal organization. The combined sentences can reach 38 years in prison.

Remember the case

Federal police officer Lucas Caribé was killed on September 15 during a confrontation with a faction in the region of Valéria, in Salvador, Bahia.

The police officer was participating in Operation Fauda, ​​conducted by the Integrated Force to Combat Organized Crime (Ficco) of the Federal Police (PF) and the Public Security Secretariat of Bahia (SSP-BA) against a criminal organization involved in drug and weapons trafficking, homicides and robberies.

Three days after the agent’s death, at least nine people died in clashes with security forces in Bahia. At the time, the Federal Police sent two teams from the Tactical Operations Command (COT) to Bahia.

Federal agent profile

Lucas Caribé joined the Federal Police in 2013, in the PF of Pará, initially being assigned to the Police Station for the Repression of Crimes Against Property and Arms Trafficking (Delepat) and then at the Police Station for the Repression of Narcotics (DRE).

In 2019, he joined the Regional Superintendence of the Federal Police in Bahia, initially being assigned to the Maritime Police Unit (Nepom). Currently, he was a member of the police team of the Ready Intervention Group (GPI), a specialized unit.
