On the morning of this Tuesday (18), the Federal Police, in partnership with the Federal Revenue Secretariat, carried out Operation Pirate Credit, which aims to investigate crimes committed by a criminal organization specialized in defrauding tax debt compensation declarations. IRS.
The agencies began investigations after information that a company located in Hortolândia, in the interior of São Paulo, had committed the crime by using false credits to offset Federal Revenue debts.
According to the PF, among the organization’s main victims are companies and businesspeople who fell for the scam after criminals presented themselves as tax consultants with specialized knowledge to reduce and eliminate fees.
According to investigations, the Hortolândia criminal organization was responsible for sending improper debt compensation statements, the total of which exceeds the value of one billion reais.
Seven search and seizure warrants are being carried out by the 9th Federal Court of Campinas in cities in São Paulo, namely: Osasco, Campos do Jordão, Praia Grande and São Paulo
Criminals may face charges of tax evasion, criminal organization and money laundering.
