PF carries out operation in eight states against drug trafficking

The Federal Police this Tuesday morning (8), fights a criminal organization involved in drug trafficking, armed militia and money laundering, and is serving 110 arrest warrants and 136 search and seizure warrants, issued by the 4th Criminal Court of the Region of Uberlândia/MG, in the states of Minas Gerais, Goiás, Mato Grosso do Sul, Rio de Janeiro, São Paulo, Pará, Tocantins and Roraima.

The PF identified that individuals involved in trafficking acted by supplying large amounts of cocaine to traffickers in the Minas Gerais triangle; and also a group that operated in Baixada Fluminense, which explored the clandestine service of armed security to transport cargo for large companies, with an industrial park in the region. The group acted as a public servant linked to public security in Rio de Janeiro, which also explored the illegal trade in weapons, mainly rifles.

After tracking the cell in the mining triangle, these groups were identified, whose specialization was money laundering for criminals in several states. This group took care of several bank accounts in the name of third parties with false names, to deceive the inspection.

With ongoing investigations, the PF discovered that more than R$1 billion was moved by those involved, who bought farms, houses, apartments, boats and luxury cars. The bank accounts used in the scheme and assets were blocked by the courts.

This operation was called “After”, as it was an offshoot of the Balada operation, in October last year, when 236 arrest warrants and 228 search and seizure warrants were served, plus the millionaire kidnapping of the assets of those involved.
