PF concludes investigation and points out criminal association about drugs on FAB plane

About ten days ago, the Federal Police (PF) concluded the report with the result of the investigation that found the use of Brazilian Air Force (FAB) planes to transport drugs abroad. The content has already been forwarded to the Federal Court, information confirmed by CNN on Wednesday (31).

According to the document, the PF concluded that there was a criminal association of military personnel to carry out drug trafficking. The report points out that Air Force Sergeant Jorge Silva was in charge of recruiting people with the FAB, and these acted as “mules” taking the drug out of the country, in the case of Sergeant Manoel Silva Rodrigues, arrested in 2019.

The wife of the arrested sergeant, Wilkelane Nonato, would be part of the gang and would have disappeared with approximately R$ 40 thousand after her husband’s arrest. Another person involved, Marcos Daniel Gama or “Chico Bomba” would be the owner of the seized drug.

The PF states that the lack of collaboration from agencies abroad made the investigation process difficult, such as obtaining material such as audio and cell phones that did not come to Brazil.

Sergeant Manoel Silva Rodrigues, who was part of the 21 soldiers who were part of President Jair Bolsonaro’s (PL) entourage to Tokyo, was arrested at Seville Airport, in Spain, with about 39 kilos of pure cocaine, accused of international trafficking of drugs.

Former sergeant Manoel Silva Rodrigues remains in Spain, where he was convicted and is serving six years in prison. THE CNN contacted the lawyers of those involved, but had no response so far.
