The Federal Police carried out an operation on Wednesday (19) to dismantle an illegal gold trade scheme. The search and seizure warrants were fulfilled in the southeastern Pará.
The criminal group is suspected of moving a value that exceeds R $ 30 million in gold extracted from Kayapó indigenous land and sold in jewelry. The action served seven search and seizure warrants in the municipalities of Redenção, Cumaru do Norte and Bannach.
During the operation, items such as cell phones, cars, money and other relevant objects for the investigation were seized.

According to investigations, one of the individuals involved is investigated for maintaining a worker in a slave -like situation in a rural property. The site is close to the indigenous land and served as a basis for illegal mining activities in the region.
