The Federal Police (PF) confirmed that the material found this Sunday (12) in the Amazon belongs to the indigenist Bruno Araújo Pereira and the English journalist Dom Phillips, who disappeared on the 5th while traveling between the Ribeirinha São Rafael community to the municipality. of Atalaia do Norte, in Amazonas.
According to a note sent by the corporation, a health card, pants, flip-flops and a pair of boots belonging to Araújo were found; and a pair of boots and a backpack with clothes from Dom Phillips.
According to the crisis committee set up by the Federal Police, the searches this Sunday focused on the region of the Itaquaí River, “especially in the area where another vessel was found, apparently owned by Amarildo da Costa Oliveira, who is currently under temporary arrest on account of of the facts”.
“In the search effort, about 25 kilometers were covered with meticulous searches through the jungle, in existing trails in the region, areas of igapós and holes in the Itaquaí River”, added the PF.
Although the police have confirmed that the materials are from Pereira and Phillips, there is still no information on the whereabouts of the duo. “Nothing is more important than the search for Bruno Pereira and Dom Phillips. Federal and state agencies reinforce their commitment to elucidating the facts and maintain the hope of finding them”, concludes the police.

Earlier, also this Sunday, Univaja (Union of Indigenous Organizations of the Javari Valley (Univaja) reported this Sunday afternoon (12) that a vessel was found in the region being searched by the journalist and the indigenist.
On Friday (10), teams that are part of Operation Javari located “apparently human organic material” in the Itaquaí River, near the port of Atalaia do Norte.
The content was sent for expert analysis by the National Institute of Criminalistics of the Federal Police. Blood samples found on Amarildo’s vessel seized on Thursday (9) will also be analyzed.
Known as Pelado, Amarildo was arrested in the act last Tuesday (7) on suspicion of involvement in the disappearance of Pereira and Phillips.
