The Federal Police (PF) carries out operations in the municipalities of Duke of Caxias Maricá, Angra dos Reis, Mesquita, Niterói, Nova Iguaçu and in the capital of Rio de Janeiro this Thursday (1st).
The action investigates the hiring of a work cooperative by the municipality of Duke of Caxias in Baixada Fluminense, whose contract and amendments exceed half a billion reais in just over two years.
About 130 federal police officers and servants of the Comptroller General of the Union (CGU) fulfill 27 search and seizure warrants, issued by the 6th Federal Criminal Court of Rio de Janeiro, against individuals and legal entities that, according to the PF, include businessmen, , financial operators, and the ringleaders of the criminal scheme.
The investigations, which began at the beginning of the year, indicate that the cooperative belongs to a criminal organization that operates in the state of Rio de Janeiro, practicing corruption and embezzlement for years, mainly in the health area.
According to the PF, the investigated use the same way of acting, in the form of constituting a company with oranges at the forefront, also of how to hire public agents. And through a patrimonial and administrative confusion between the legal entities of the group, and committing the same crimes.
The name of the operation refers to a figure of speech used by writers through the repetition of one or more words at the beginning of verses, clauses or sentences. Used in poetry and music, “Anaphora” increases the expressiveness of the message, emphasizing the meaning of consecutively repeated terms.
