PF fights bank fraud in Paraná and Goiás

The Federal Police (PF) acts on the streets in Paraná and Goiás this Tuesday (27) to fight bank fraud, practiced by a criminal organization specializing in embezzlement and document fraud.

Two search and seizure warrants are being carried out in Operation Calligraphy II in Aparecida de Goiás and Curitiba, in Paraná, issued by the 1st Federal Criminal Court of Anápolis, in Goiás.

One of the targets of this operation is a server of the Federal Savings Bank and the other is an intermediary who passed on the bank’s customer data to the criminal group.

In the first phase of Operation Calligraphy, three people were denounced for fraud and two arrests were made. The investigation began with the arrest in the act of a member of the organization, who tried to fraudulently withdraw, using someone else’s name, about R$ 7 thousand, at a CEF agency in Alexânia, Goiás.

Those involved can be framed for qualified embezzlement, violation of functional secrecy and criminal association.

The name of the operation refers to the preparations for the crimes, in which the investigated trained signatures that appeared on the cards that would be forged.
