The Federal Police (PF) is executing 20 warrants this Tuesday (18), three of them for preventive detention and seventeen for search and seizure. In addition, the police carry out actions against the kidnapping of cars and properties and money deposited in the account of seven involved in the international drug crime.
One hundred police officers work on the action to meet the determination of the 5th Federal Criminal Court of Santos. The operation, called Genesis, is taking place in Santos, São Vicente, Cubatão and Praia Grande, on the coast of São Paulo.
According to investigations that began in November last year, police seized more than 1.6 tons of cocaine in three actions. The first took place in Hamburg, Germany, and the other two in Santos, São Paulo. The final destination was the city of Antwerp, Belgium, and Durban, South Africa.
For the PF, criminals acted in the export of illegal cargo as contracting, stuffing and transport. Cocaine was placed hidden, which increased the amount of the product sent to Europe and Asia.
Those involved will answer for the crimes of international drug trafficking and association for trafficking, with sentences ranging from 10 to 25 years in prison. Genesis refers to the first apprehension, which gave rise to the procedure and which made it possible to identify the masterminds of the criminal organization.
