PF fulfills search warrants in Pará against illegal advertising during 1st round

The Federal Police (PF) carried out two search and seizure warrants this Thursday (20) in the Legislative Chamber of Ananindeua, in the metropolitan region of Belém do Pará, with operation Batelada, which investigates illegal advertising that took place in the first round of the election. this year.

In addition, there was a breach of confidentiality of the phones used to identify those responsible for creating, managing and recruiting voters through social networks in WhatsApp groups for the dissemination of illegal propaganda on election day.

The PF seized electronic devices in the office and house of a councilor, who would be the administrator of the WhatsApp group, created to summon people who would have distributed illegal propaganda on October 2nd.

The Batelada operation is an offshoot of the detailed term of occurrence drawn up by the PF, against a person caught carrying out “exiting the ballot box”. When approached, the suspect sent “Me Pegaram” in the groups of the messaging application and then tried to delete the groups created on the social network so as not to be tracked by the police.

“Batch” is a term used to represent large numbers, alluding to the number of people who are regimented and organized in social media groups to practice illegal conduct on election day.
