Five people were arrested by the Federal Police in Sao Paulo on the morning of Thursday, 27, accused of joining a gang specializing in thefts to apartments in the state capital. The names of the detainees was not disclosed.
According to the Federal Police, the investigation began when criminals broke into an apartment and stole objects that are from the Union. The institution did not report what are these objects of theft.
Researchers found that the group used online platforms and fake documents to rent real estate in condominiums where they planned to practice theft. With guaranteed access to the building, they monitored the residents of the chosen apartments and, when they knew that the property was empty, broke into the door and practiced theft.
Throughout the investigation, it was found that in only one month the investigated rented at least four apartments to practice crimes. They may be responsible for qualified theft, criminal association and use of false document.
The operation triggered on Thursday was named Recovery (recovery).
