The Federal Police fulfills search and seizure warrants, this Thursday morning (7), to investigate a cyber-attack on the Rádio Justiça Portal and the procedural consultation system of the Federal Supreme Court (STF), the “e-supremo”.
Two search and seizure warrants were issued in Paraná and two search and preventive arrest warrants in São Paulo. The determination came from the 15th Federal Court of Justice in the Federal District.
The investigation was launched after the Court’s Information Technology Secretariat identified the hackers’ action. The STF sent a crime report to the PF.
According to investigations, three people found a vulnerability on the website. www.radiojustiça.jus.brin March of last year, which allowed undue access to the servers where the portal is hosted and also to the STF’s procedural consultation system.
Those involved may be held liable for the crimes of invasion of a computer device, corruption of minors and interrupting or disturbing telegraphic, radiotelegraphic or telephone services, as well as preventing or hindering their re-establishment.
The operation, called “Jakarta”, refers to a vulnerability that allows exploiting a flaw capable of releasing the execution of remote commands on the server, which allows the attacker to gain control over the vulnerable server.
