PF investigates diversion of medicines intended for Yanomami children

The Federal Police (PF) launched the second phase of Operation Yoasi in the early hours of Wednesday (4). The targets are businessmen suspected of diverting medicines that would be sent to the Yanomami people, in Roraima.

According to a PF survey, around 10 thousand indigenous children may have been left unassisted.

Only one of the targets of the operation would have embezzled a further R$4 million.

This is a businessman who had already been arrested in another operation investigating the overpricing of oxygen intended for the Yanomami.

In total, PF agents carried out four search and seizure warrants. All in Boa Vista (RR).
