PF investigates group that profited R$1 million from ghost accounts at Caixa

The Federal Police are investigating a group from Brasília that profited R$1 million from ghost accounts opened at Caixa Econômica Federal branches in several cities in the state of Goiás.

According to the investigation by the PF Superintendence in Goiás, those involved were committing fraud using false documents to open bank accounts in the name of third parties.

As the investigation progressed, this Tuesday (7), federal police officers carried out two search and seizure warrants at the suspects' homes in Ceilândia (DF), 30 km away from Esplanada dos Ministérios.

The warrants were within the scope of Operation Ghost Accounts. Based on all the material seized, the PF hopes to advance the investigation and identify the criminal network.
