The Federal Police (PF) is investigating whether the movements that have resulted in the illegal blockade of highways across the country were orchestrated, including with financial support. The information, according to the CNN with sources familiar with the investigations, are included in inquiries opened by the corporation. There are ongoing investigations in practically all units of the federation.
Officially, the PF reported that it is part of the crisis office created by the Ministry of Justice and Public Security to monitor road closures and is supporting the Federal Highway Police (PRF) and other security forces in the reestablishment of the free movement of people and transportation of goods on the country’s roads.
“Any crimes committed during the demonstrations, within the scope of the Federal Police’s attributions, will be duly investigated by the body”, emphasizes the note.
Information collected by investigators about the organizers of the protests has been forwarded to the Electoral Court. The Superior Electoral Court (TSE), for example, has given, in recent days, decisions to overthrow Bolsonarist groups and accounts of people linked to these movements, according to Judiciary sources.
The decisions are confidential in the TSE, but the CNN found to involve multiple accounts. Deputy Carla Zambelli (PL-SP) and Pastor André Valadão, for example, had their social media profiles suspended in recent days. The deputy classified the decision that led to this overthrow as “censorship”.
