A mansion in a luxury condominium in the city of Arujá, in São Paulo, was one of the assets seized by the Federal Police, this Tuesday (19), during the third phase of Operation Juízo Paralelo, which aimed to dismantle the fraud of judicial permits of the Labor Court of Rio de Janeiro.
In the action, agents also seized five luxury vehicles and R$30,000 in cash, as well as documents, cell phones and media.
Nine search and seizure warrants had been issued by the 8th Federal Criminal Court of Rio de Janeiro. In addition, three others were completed, reaching 12, at addresses located in the states of Rio de Janeiro, São Paulo and Santa Catarina.
In the sights of around 40 agents involved in the operation was a network of money changers who provided assistance in money laundering for an interstate criminal organization that defrauded court decisions, using false digital certificates in the name of magistrates.
With the fraud, the criminal organization intended to withdraw, using falsified licenses, approximately R$62 million. However, until now, they had only managed to do so with undue withdrawals of R$4 million. In other words, the loss avoided was around R$58 million.
The idea is to use seized money, vehicles and high-value assets in order to reimburse public coffers.
This is the third phase of the operation, which was initially launched at the end of 2022 and had a second action in December last year. According to investigations, there are indications that the group would also operate in Sergipe and Paraná.
Those investigated will be responsible for the crimes of criminal organization, money laundering, qualified embezzlement, ideological falsehood and falsification of public documents, with penalties that, combined, can reach 30 years in prison.
