The Federal Police and the Special Action Group to Combat São Paulo Organized Crime (Gaeco) triggered, on the morning of Monday (24), Operation Hammare, with the objective of dismantling a criminal organization dedicated to cargo and truck thefts, breakdown, reception and money laundering .
The organization has its main base in the state of São Paulo, but was operating in several states of the country, and is responsible for about fifty identified thefts.
Investigations revealed that the leaders of the criminal organization enjoyed a luxurious lifestyle, with the acquisition of Luxury vehicles such as Ferrari and Lamborghini, speedboats, jet skis and high -end properties in luxury condominiums, as well as attend VIP cabins at shows and events .
Operation Hammare mobilizes 110 federal police and 100 police officers of the São Paulo Military Highway Police to comply with 17 temporary arrest warrants and 24 search and seizure warrants in the states of São Paulo, Paraná, Rondônia and Rio Grande do Sul.
In addition to arrests and searches, the operation determined the kidnapping of goods and values linked to the organization, totaling seventy million reais.
The investigation began in July 2023 after a cargo theft and truck in Cajamar (SP).
The warrants were issued by the 1st Criminal Judicial Court of the District of Cajamar (SP).
The criminal organization was structured in three groups specialized in: theft, breakdown and reception .
The complexity of the investigation of the breakdown and receiving groups led to the decision to first dismantle the organization’s robbery arm, responsible for about fifty thefts between 2021 and 2024.
During the Operations ABOIZ (2023) and Cacaria (2024), launched to contain the organization’s robbery activity, were arrested robbery and receivers.
The material seized in these operations, together with the analysis of telematic, financial and banking data, allowed the identification of the investigators of the breakdown and receiving groups, including leaders and financiers, culminating in Operation Hammare.
The name “Hammare” (hammer, in Swedish) refers to the main instrument used by theft to access the vehicle cabins, breaking the glass while drivers rested, and the specialty of the criminal organization in Swedish truck brands.
The investigation group, which works together with Gaeco/SP and other public security forces, began work in December 2021 and has so far responsible for more than 220 arrests and for the disarticulation of various criminal organizations such as rapina (2022), Malta, Caterva, Malta II, Volvere, Cycling, ABIIZ (2023) Radinos (2024).
