PF operation combats money laundering scheme of trafficking in FAB planes

This Wednesday morning (15th), the Federal Police is carrying out five search and seizure warrants in Brasília and in Florianópolis/SC, in the 5th phase of Operation “Fifth Column”.

The action investigates the money laundering practiced by the leader of a criminal organization, which sent drugs to Europe using Brazilian Air Force planes.

The Federal Court also ordered the kidnapping and blocking of five properties, a gym, R$ 2 million from a loan made by the target of the operation, two luxury cars and R$ 1.6 million from companies and the investigated .

The investigations indicate that the acquisition of goods and the movement of values ​​were carried out in kind and the investigated used relatives such as oranges.

In addition, there was use of shell companies to disguise ownership of real estate and the circulation of large amounts of money.

Those involved will be held liable for the crimes of money laundering and criminal association, and could face 13 years in prison.
