PF Operation Mira illegal migration to the US and other countries

The Federal Police launched, on the morning of Friday (7), Operation Muralha II, with the objective of dismantle a criminal scheme for promoting illegal migration and criminal association involving the clandestine entry of Brazilians in other countries especially in the United States.

A search and seizure warrant was fulfilled at the house of those involved in the municipality of Iapu (MG). The PF wants to reap new evidence that corroborates the evidence already raised.

The investigation estimates that the criminal group receives payments between $ 20,000 and $ 100,000 for illegal trips abroad, often through the transfer of cars and properties to third parties.

The PF also says that the scheme has the logistical support of individuals outside Brazil.

During the investigation, it has been found that people are also the subject of threats, especially when the purpose of the trip is not realized, but are still forced to pay the amounts charged.

There is no totality of how many Brazilians were taken abroad, but investigators estimate that they exceed 100 people.

Investigated people may be responsible for illegal migration and criminal association promotion crimes, whose maximum penalties may exceed 8 years of imprisonment.

Deported
Three flights with Brazilians living illegally in the United States have already landed in Brazil with deported. The first, arriving in Belo Horizonte, in January, with 88 people; The second and third, landing in Fortaleza, with 111 and 101, respectively.

This second, with two Brazilians with open arrest warrants. Both were arrested by the PF when they landed.

The measure is part of the second government of Donald Trump, of mass deportation of illegal immigrants.
