PF receives the second jet of its fleet in Brasília

The Federal Police received this Thursday (24) another jet, the Embraer E175, the second aircraft to be added to the institution’s fleet, which has 12 aircraft. The handover ceremony took place in the hangar of the Aviation Coordination-CAV, of the Federal Police Department.

The aircraft produced by Embraer will be used to transfer prisoners, move police officers and transport cargo and equipment, in addition to helping other Forces that need it. The two jets cost around R$100 million. Both aircraft were in Portugal, where they underwent maintenance, adjustments and painting. They belonged to Flybe Leasing, which closed its doors in 2020.

In his speech, the director general of the Federal Police, Márcio Nunes de Oliveira, highlighted the importance of this acquisition: “who gains from the arrival of the second Embraer E175 aircraft is Brazil, society and good citizens. And this jet will contribute to the main mission of the police, which is to fight crime”. Last December, the first aircraft that is in operation arrived.
