Among the 144 search and seizure warrants served this Wednesday (25) by the Federal Police, one of them caught the attention of investigators. A man was arrested for producing an image of sexual abuse against a known child. She was rescued by agents.
“During the analysis of the scene, we saw that the suspect produced images of abuse. So at this moment we say that we rescued this child because we identified it during the search and we are providing all the support for this child, including psychological support, from the support network. This case drew attention,” PF delegate Rafaella Vieira Parca, coordinator of the operation, told CNN.
The city where the victim was rescued was not disclosed in order to protect the child.

In total, the operation arrested 60 people in flagrante delicto at the 144 addresses targeted by searches. Early in the morning, the PF reported that there were 141 warrants. The suspects had pornographic material on their computers and cell phones and were therefore arrested in flagrante delicto.
How they acted
According to the investigator, the suspects used groups dedicated to sharing images of sexual abuse and also threatened children. “There are several investigative methodologies and methods for sifting through this material. There are individuals who have committed online grooming of children and adolescents, threatening victims so that they would produce images of themselves. So we have several fronts of action in the cases that have been uncovered today.”
“The PF creates the methodology to monitor this behavior, to be able to repress this conduct,” he highlighted.
The investigator also highlighted that ‘the numbers are frightening’. Computers containing 25 thousand abuse files were seized, with one target in Rio Grande do Sul, another with 22 thousand in Brasília and another with 17 thousand in Rio de Janeiro.
The delegate said that the operation carried out in all states and in the Federal District ‘is a national response, for society, for the victims, who we are fighting every day, and for the abusers, in the sense that they do not commit these abuses that we are after and will arrest.’
In total, 750 police officers participated in the operation, with the support of the Homeland Security Investigations (HSI), the United States Embassy and state civil police, in the operation dubbed “Terabytes”.
