The Federal Police (PF) said, last Tuesday (30), that it arrested a man who holds a leadership position in a militia that operates in the neighborhoods of Sepetiba and Nova Sepetiba, in the west zone of Rio de Janeiro.
The measure was carried out in conjunction with the Rio de Janeiro Public Ministry’s Special Action Group to Combat Organized Crime (Gaeco/MPRJ).
The prisoner’s performance in the militia was revealed after analysis of seized materials and investigations of Operation Dynasty, launched in August 2022, aimed at dismantling the criminal organization.
The temporary arrest warrant was issued by the 1st Specialized Criminal Organization Court of the Rio de Janeiro Court of Justice (TJ-RJ) and served on the Presidente Dutra Highway, near the municipality of Paracambi, in the Metropolitan Region of Rio de Janeiro.
The man was taken to the Federal Police Regional Superintendence in Rio de Janeiro and later sent to the prison system.
He responds for the crimes of private militia and illegal trade in firearms. If added together, the maximum penalties can reach 20 years in prison.
