The Federal Police seized 77 kilos of gold that were being transported in a King Air turboprop private plane, at Sorocaba State Airport, Bertrand Leupolz. The information was released this Thursday (5).
The PF, which was already monitoring the plane and with the support of the Military Highway Police, waited for the six occupants of the aircraft, all Brazilians, to unload three suitcases and put them in two vehicles, which were stopped at the height of km 74 of Rodovia Castelo Branco in the towards the capital of São Paulo.
Inside were gold bars, a fourth suitcase and various documents.
The six men were taken to the Sorocaba PF, where an investigation was launched to investigate the crime of receiving and possible usurpation of Union assets.
According to the PF, the plane was seized and the 77 kilos of gold were sent for forensic examination. Documents indicate that the origin of the metal is from Pará and Mato Grosso. The estimated value of the gold is R$ 23 million.
