The Federal Police (PF) in Amazonas reported, this Friday (28), that it carried out the largest seizure of cash during the second round with the “2022 Election” operation.
About R$ 3 million were seized from two people, who were arrested. According to the PF, the money was withdrawn by the two people at a bank in the center of the Amazon capital of Manaus.
The pair were taken into custody. In addition, two cell phones and a luxury car were seized.
The men had the company of a transport company of values and had ties with a politician in the state of Acre.
The two men were taken to the PF Superintendence where they were heard, and they were unable to explain where the money would go.
Then, they went to a custody hearing and will answer for the crime of “slush funds”, with a penalty of five years in prison and a fine. The case took place on the 21st, but was only released this Friday (28th) by the PF.
