PF takes action against drug trafficking in Rio Grande do Norte

The Federal Police launched on Thursday (10) an operation to comply with seven pre-trial detention warrants in the cities of Goianinha, Santa Cruz, MossorĂ³ and Natal, in Rio Grande do Norte. Targets are members of a gang involved with drug trafficking, theft and illegal trade of firearms.

The criminal group acted intensely in Natal, but also distributed drugs and weapons to the interior of the state. According to investigations, the suspects used intermediate bank accounts to hide the amounts collected with illicit activities.

Also according to the PF, the scheme was attended by a passenger transport driver, responsible for delivering narcotics in several cities, in addition to making payments on behalf of the criminal organization.

The action was coordinated by the Integrated Force to Combat Rio Grande do Norte Organized Crime (Ficco), which also fulfilled seven home search and seizure warrants. The goal is to locate weapons, drugs and other elements that may prove the participation of the investigated.
