Pfizer should ask for definitive vaccination registration for children by next week

Pfizer must request the definitive registration of the vaccine against Covid-19 for children from 5 to 11 years of age at the National Health Surveillance Agency (Anvisa) by next Friday (12).

According to the calculation of the CNN, the pharmaceutical is finalizing the documentation of the studies that were presented and approved by the FDA, the North American regulatory agency, to present to Anvisa. In the United States, the Pfizer vaccine began being applied to children this week.

Next Tuesday (9), Anvisa should meet with the technicians responsible for regulating the immunizing agent and present the studies and data that prove the safety, quality and effectiveness of the vaccine for children aged 5 to 11 years.

Anvisa will have 30 days, from the date the request is filed, to evaluate the data and allow or not the use of the immunizing agent for children in Brazil.
