THE Pfizer is set to start producing a key ingredient for its COVID-19 vaccine at a plant in Ireland for the first time, the US pharmaceutical company announced today.
Existing Pfizer unit at Grange Castle in Dublin will produce “Component of mRNA drugs” and production will begin by the end of the year, according to the announcement. The production organization will cost $ 40 million and will employ 75 people, according to the announcement.
“Given the extensive technology transfer process, on-site development, equipment installation and regulatory approvals required for the unit, we expect it to join the network by the end of 2021.”
