Phantom TMX 7510 camera shoots at 1.75 million frames per second

Vision Research, a high-speed camera specialist, has unveiled the Phantom TMX series. This series consists of two models, the TMX 7510 and TMX 6410. They use backlit sensors for improved light sensitivity.

Phantom TMX 7510 camera shoots at 1.75 million frames per second

The TMX 7510 can shoot 76,000 frames per second at full resolution of 1280 x 800 pixels (1 megapixel), over 300,000 frames per second at 1280 x 192 pixels and over 770,000 frames per second at lower resolutions … Optionally, it is possible to increase the speed to 1.75 million frames per second, but the manufacturer makes a reservation that this option is subject to export control. The minimum shutter speed is only 95 ns, which eliminates blur even when shooting very fast processes. In the case of the TMX 6410, the frame rate at 1280 x 800 is 64,940 frames per second, and the maximum value is 1.5 million frames per second.

To handle these high frame rates, the TMX series cameras have a very high light sensitivity. In monochrome it is ISO 40,000D, in color – 12,500D.

The cameras are equipped with up to 512 GB internal RAM, which can be split for repeated experiments. Phantom CineMag 2TB or 8TB non-volatile memory provides fast downloads and easy storage of footage. The equipment includes a 10 GbE interface. The manufacturer does not provide prices.
