Picanha is the second best dish in the Americas in an international ranking; see list

After the Canastra and Coalho cheese are among the 50 best cheeses in the world and the coxinha shines as one of the best street foods in the world, now it is the picanha that stands out on the platform Taste Atlas.

The Brazilian beef cut appears in second place among the best evaluated dishes in the Americas by the gastronomic platform. The darling of national barbecues is second only to the Argentine asado.

In the ranking of the platform, the two meals appear with the same score – 4.8 -, however, other delicacies also appear with the same score. They are pan de bono, a traditional Colombian bread made with cheese, eggs and cassava flour, and chancho en piedra, a chile sauce with tomatoes, garlic, chili pepper, onion, olive oil, salt, pepper and parsley or cilantro, prepared in a mortar or pestle.

But, although our picanha is a delicacy, the asado is pointed out by the gastronomic encyclopedia as a technique. He is, according to Taste Atlas itself, an example of Argentine cuisine and culture.

“It is a culinary and social event attended by friends and family to share the joy of outdoor cooking,” says the encyclopedia.

In addition to Argentina, asado is also popular in Chile, Uruguay and Paraguay.
