Pilot crashes in Amazon jungle and survives for a month until rescued

An incredible adventure was experienced by a 36-year-old a few weeks ago Brazilian pilot when his plane crashed in the heart of his rainforest Amazon.

Antonio Senna not only survived the crash, but managed to emerge unscathed from the jungle (with so many wild animals inside) a month later and finally survived unscathed on March 6.

It all started on January 28, when the his plane crashed in the inhospitable and vast jungle. It was flying at an altitude of 1,000 meters, when the single-engine Cessna 210 had a problem. The pilot decided to steer the plane on a series of palm trees, estimating that there would be a river nearby and sent a distress signal from the radio.

He escaped simple hacks and spent the remaining 36 days trying to find his way, to avoid meeting dangerous wild animals but mainly to survive with what, little by little, he could eat in the forest.

He initially camped near the wreckage, hoping to be seen from the air. He saw several times passing by the plane, he tried to shout, maybe he was located, but in vain.

Eventually he decided that his only option was to walk to find himself in a habitable and safe place. It took him a distance of 25 km to travel it over a month in the dense forest. He located the nearest river and then moved east, with the sun as his “guide”. During the day he walked and at night he slept on hills, as you guessed that wild animals are more likely to hunt near the water.

After about 30 days and having already lost 25 kilos, he began to have doubts about whether he will finally be able to survive. Then he heard an unexpected sound from afar: a chainsaw.

The next morning he heard it again. He continued walking and in the afternoon he spotted a family of locals, who were there to gather fruit. The locals had a radio with them, through which they contacted a relative who asked him to call the pilot’s mother and inform her that he was alive.
