The Brazilian Air Force (FAB) located and rescued the pilot of the missing aircraft alive since Wednesday afternoon (3). He had taken off from the Aeroclube de Santa Catarina, in São José (SC), bound for the Videira airfield (SC).
The 60-year-old pilot was taken this Thursday (4) to Florianópolis airport and taken by the Mobile Emergency Care Service (SAMU) team to the Governador Celso Ramos Hospital.
The plane was found in the rural area of the city of Ponte Alta do Norte (SC), about 18km from Curitibanos, the largest city close to the region.
“The SC-105 Amazonas aircraft from the Second Squadron of the Tenth Aviation Group – Pelicano Squadron – found, this Thursday (4), the missing aircraft. Paratroopers from the Airborne Rescue Squadron (PARA-SAR) were launched to investigate the conditions and provide first aid to the victim. At around 2:00 p.m., the H-60 Black Hawk helicopter carried out the rescue,” reported the FAB.
The commander of the helicopter used in the mission, Lieutenant Aviator Vitor Lucas de Mello, reported the emotion of finding the accident victim alive during the rescue. “When we realized that he was alive, the crew was extremely happy, motivated even more to carry out the mission”, he expressed.

The FAB says that the conclusion of the investigation will take as short a time as possible, always depending on the complexity of the incident and, also, the need to discover possible contributing factors.
