An accident caused a big scare in the Spanish city of Zaragoza, this Saturday morning (20). A Spanish Air Force plane crashed during training, requiring the mobilization of a rescue team.
The F-18 was maneuvering near the Zaragoza air base when it lost altitude and crashed. The pilot of the 15th Wing of Spain managed to eject seconds before the aircraft fell inside the facilities of the military base, Air Force sources informed Europa Press.
The soldier, who has not been identified, was taken to a local hospital where he is recovering from injuries sustained in the crash, the country’s air force said on its social media platforms. There is still no more detailed information on health status.
The accident did not cause any collateral damage. Air Force investigations are ongoing to identify the causes of the plane’s crash.
