The Marilia Civil Police are investigating the circumstances of the accident that resulted in the death of Formula 1600, Eduardo Imamura, 35, and his seven-year-old son, Bento Imamura, last Saturday (5), on the Transbrasilian highway (BR-153), in Marília (SP). According to information from the Civil Police, The pilot drove the truck that broke into the opposite lane and collided head -on with a truck .

The Federal Highway Police (PRF) was called to serve the occurrence in the Altos do Palmital neighborhood. Upon arriving at the scene, the agents found that the vehicle where the victims were had crossed the rolling strip and if shocked violently against a truck. Eduardo Imamura died at the scene of the accident.

His son, Bento Imamura, who was also in the vehicle, was rescued and sent to a health unit, but could not resist the severity of the injuries and died on Monday (7). A 38 -year -old woman whose identity was not disclosed was also on the truck and remains hospitalized to receive medical treatment.

Scientific police experts conducted surveys at the scene of the accident to collect evidence that may clarify the causes of the invasion of the opposite. The bodies of father and son were taken to the Forensic Medical Institute (IML) to perform the necroscopic examinations.

The case was formally registered on the duty of Marilia’s sectional police station as a manslaughter towards a motor vehicle, a motor vehicle injury and death communication, and investigations continue to determine the factors that led to fatal collision.

Eduardo Imamura was a pilot with recognition in the scenario of Formula 1600, boasting important titles such as the 2020 runner-up, the 2021 Paulista LDA Championship and the 2023 Cup. In addition to his passion for motorsport, he also practiced motocross.
