In an effort possibly to defuse growing tensions between the West and Russia and amid concerns about a Russian invasion of Ukrainea pilot wrote the word “Relax” in the sky with airplane along the border of neighboring Moldova with Ukraine.
Whether airspace diplomacy has ever been successful remains unknown, but some 30,000 people watched the flight in real time.
The pilot’s message became visible thanks to Flightradar 24, a live flight tracking site that occasionally offers any weird messages he encounters. From messages to Valentine’s loved ones to the celebration of the coronavirus vaccine.

The Air Moldova plane, whose pilot wrote the message in the ethers, departed from Chisinau, the capital of Moldova, for a 1-hour, 40-minute flight on February 17, according to Flightradar 24.
