Investment firm Pimco, which manages $ 2 trillion in assets, is considering trading cryptocurrencies in the derivatives market.
Pimco’s investment director Daniel Ivascyn told CNBC that the firm is already investing in cryptocurrency-related stocks. However, the management also has an interest in digital asset trading in the derivatives market.
“We are considering trading cryptocurrencies as part of our trending and high frequency trading strategies. This requires high-quality fundamental analysis, so it will be a gradual process. We spent a lot of time discussing this decision with investors, so we will gradually dive into this fast-growing industry, ”Ivasin said.
According to Pimco’s investment director, cryptocurrencies can attract a new generation of investors, so the company needs to consider scenarios in which it will be “competitive” in the cryptocurrency market.
Note that Pimco is one of the largest companies in the investment arena. The firm invests in a wide variety of products and areas, including alternative investment vehicles, fixed income products and derivatives markets.
