Pink power according to Donatella Versace

“The archetype of a powerful person has now changed forever. For me, having power means above all having the freedom to be able to express oneself as one is, without being afraid“. This, second Donatella Versace, the definition of power, the cornerstone of Medusa Power Talks, an all-female platform created to tell the stories of women in power in 2021, a year marked by profound transformations and changes.

Guided by her unique and personal experience, Donatella created this space for women and people genderqueer to discuss the role that power plays in modern life, and the double gender standard they often have to undergo when they express their power, or when they are in leadership positions.

The project will develop starting from a series of interviews recorded with the talents who will participate in the conversation, including Preious Lee, Indya Moore, Irina Shayk, Chelsea Miller and of course Donatella Versace. These interviews will be shared on Versace’s social platforms starting March 30 and will culminate in a live event on Versace’s new profile on Clubhouse.

The project aims to amplify the voices by taking progressive steps in the direction of gender equality and promoting female power. As part of the brand’s commitment to supporting gender equality, Versace donated a portion of the sales achieved during the International Women’s Day weekend to Women’s Center for Creative Work, a Los Angeles-based organization that focuses on giving priority and prominence to the work of women and all those artists who are part of marginalized communities.
