Pinocchio: the first trailer of the Disney film with Tom Hanks

The Pinocchio-mania inaugurated in 2019 by Matteo Garrone continues to bear fruit. And so, after the first images of the Netflix stop-motion version directed by Guillermo Del Toro, here is the first trailer of the Disney version directed by Robert Zemeckis, arriving theSeptember 8 not at the cinema, but on Disney +, exactly as happened with the live-action of Lady and the Tramp. The attention to detail seems incredible, as does the adherence to the original story, which he will see Tom Hanks in the role of Geppetto and Cynthia Erivo in that of the Blue Fairy (strangely, the controversy about a black fairy has not yet arrived, but we are sure that someone will show up soon).

Rounding out the cast are Benjamin Evan Ainsworth as Pinocchio, Joseph Gordon-Levitt in those of Jiminy CricketPinocchio’s guide as well as his conscience, Keegan-Michael Key in the role of the Fox, Oscar nominee Lorraine Bracco in that of Sofia the Seagull, a new character, and Luke Evans in that of Postiglione. The film, produced by Zemeckis himself with Derek Hogue, Andrew Miano, Chris Weitz and Paul Weitz, dusts off the classic by Carlo Collodi, one of the most famous fairy tales in the world, seasoning it with the Disney touch that has raised and cradled us since we were little.

After the forced stop due to the pandemic, Disney is getting its hands on the live-action theme again: Pinocchio is undoubtedly one of the most anticipated along with The little Mermaid – some scenes were shot in our Sardinia – and the new one snow-white starring Rachel Zegler. The trend, on the other hand, is one of the luckiest of the Burbank house together with the Marvel titles, and we have no doubt that the road is increasingly that of investing in nostalgia operations that look to the future.
