Piraeus Bank: New pioneering program aimed at equality

Piraeus Bank announces the pioneering EQUALL program, which includes actions aimed at creating a society of equal people.

Piraeus Bank is committed to substantially supporting the sustainable development of the Greek economy and society and is taking initiatives to strengthen women entrepreneurship, support women to enter the labor market and eliminate gender stereotypes.

In order to contribute to the formation of a society of equal people, he created the EQUALL program under which the actions Women Founders and Makers, Women Back to Work and Profession has no Gender are implemented, in collaboration with 100mentors and Tipping Point.

These actions aim to support women, in order to claim the position that corresponds to their value and potential, enhancing their equal access to employment and business, elements necessary for their autonomy and development. At the same time, they aim to raise the awareness of young people regarding the choice of profession, in relation to social stereotypes.

The actions of the EQUALL Program

Women Founders and Makers

This is a training, networking and mentoring program aimed at women who have set up or want to start their own business. Upon completion of the program, participants receive a certificate of attendance.

Through the program, the participants are given the opportunity to:

– To acquire the necessary business skills in order to successfully apply the practices of modern business activity in their companies.

– To expand their possibilities of access to sources of financing, learning the ways of raising funds but also the preparation and presentation of their business plans.

– To develop the digital skills that will contribute to the promotion of their businesses.

– To be empowered with the acquisition of knowledge and experience,

– To network, to receive support at every step

– Assess the development of skills such as critical thinking, creativity and problem solving.

Women Back to Work

This is a training, networking and mentoring program aimed at women who want to return to the job market. Upon completion of the program, participants receive a certificate of attendance.

Through the program, the participants are given the opportunity to:

– To acquire skills in leadership and management in order to broaden the prospects of their professional development.

– To develop digital skills that will help them understand the modern requirements in the labor market and will open new horizons of professional career

– To acquire specialized knowledge in the preparation and promotion of their CV, in their preparation for an interview and the presentation of themselves to their future employers, in order to gain the position they desire.

– To be empowered with the acquisition of knowledge and experience

– To network, to receive support at every step

– Assess the development of skills such as critical thinking, creativity and problem solving.

Both programs are open to women over 18 years old from all over Greece. The applications for participation in the 1st cycle of actions start on March 8 and end on March 22, 2022.

Profession has no Gender

This is an educational program, in the framework of which, groups of students from public high schools and lyceums throughout Greece, come in contact with mentors who are active in professions that are stereotypically intertwined with the opposite sex.

Women and men from Greece and abroad, connect online with student groups, in order to share their course, experiences, challenges and achievements, in order to inspire the new generation to follow the academic and professional path they desire, regardless of gender. The mentors are women and men from Greece and abroad and come from a variety of professional fields e.g. women engineers, scientists and CEOs, male nurses, social workers, kindergarten teachers, etc. The program targets approximately 1,200 public high school students across the country.

Participation in the actions and access to digital training and mentoring platforms are provided free of charge.

At the same time, in the framework of the EQUALL program and recognizing the key role of human resources in achieving its corporate strategic goals and managing challenges, Piraeus Bank sets specific goals and undertakes specific initiatives and actions to create a respectful working environment, security and equal opportunities for all.

Piraeus Bank, among the first Greek banks, signed the UN Global Compact and UN Women Women Empowerment Principles, thus undertaking specific commitments to implement the appropriate framework that will strengthen and promote Gender Equality. In addition, it was included among the 418 companies from 45 countries and regions that were included in the Bloomberg Gender Equality Index for 2022. This is an important Index that records the performance of companies committed to the transparency of their policy data Gender Equality.
