The security cameras of a house in Jardinópolis (SP) recorded the moment when a Pitbull saved a chihuahua puppy, who fell into a swimming pool. The accident happened on Tuesday morning (18).
The businessman Ricardo Fabri, tutor of both dogs, told CNN that the chihuahua puppy, named Puma, was playing outside with the other family dogs when he fell into the water. A few seconds later, five-year-old pit bull Athena, who was on a terrace, comes down the stairs and saves the puppy from possible drowning. She jumped into the water to scoop it out with her mouth and then left Puma safely on the edge of the pool.
Fabri says that Puma is seven months old and is a puppy of the couple’s chihuahua, who gave birth to him and two other puppies. Puma, according to the businessman, is used to playing around the pool and this was the first time such an incident had happened.
The dog’s owner and Fabri’s wife, Janaína Leite, appears in the images soon after. She was cleaning the inside of the house at the time of the incident. According to the family, all the dogs are doing well and little Puma is recovering from the scare he had. No veterinary care was required.
